Celtic continue to monitor Lawrence Shankland as the Scottish Champions are keen on bolstering their squad for the second half of the season, the striker has been firing goals in for Dundee United this season and clubs are pondering securing his services.

The Scottish striker has score an impressive 24 goals in 24 games this season and is one of the reasons Dundee United are in pole position for promotion to Scotland’s top league.

Celtic have been eyeing up Shankland for some time now and many Hoops fans are not keen on the idea of signing him, its true the striker has not yet proved himself in Scotland’s big league but these are the kind of raw talented players that Celtic should be buying and taking a gamble on before the clubs in England come sniffing.

Lawrence Shankland

SIGNING FOR THE FUTURE

By no means should Lawrence be signed as a first team player, with Celtic’s top class training facilities and with our superb coaching staff, Shankland could very well be a signing that might come good sooner than most fans think.

Many fans would compare this to the Scott Allan situation, but Celtic must buy up all the top talent in Scotland otherwise we would miss alot of future players coming through the ranks, sometimes signing these players are a hit and miss kind of scenario but that’s just football.
