Celtic could be set to rekindle their interest in long term striking target Andraz Sporar as Slovan Bratislava have just signed his replacement.

During the week there were some media reports that suggested that Sporar did not want to make the move to Celtic and the deal was a non starter, however, now it seems the Slovakian club have gave in to the idea of holding on to their star man as the club’s chairman revealed they have signed his replacement.

Andraz Sporar

Vice-president Ivan Kmotrík Jr said: “Andraz has set the bar high and it will be difficult for any attacker to equal or even surpass him.

“No matter how the situation with Andraz develops, we do not want to say that Alen is his replacement.

“It’s up to him to show what he can do in the team and whether he can score goals. I believe Alen has the potential to do so.

“When compared to Andraz he’s not as far along in his development but he can beat a man in the final third and is a very good finisher.”

The January transfer window is always going to be a hard one, at the end of the day the press do not really know who any clubs are talking to or what’s even being said, Celtic could very well land Sporar in the coming days or we might fail in doing so its just what happens in football.
