Celtic have sold former Rodgers flop Eboue Kouassi to Belgian club Genk after he impressed out on loan despite only playing four games.

The Celtic misfit joined Genk on loan in January after 15 months on the fringes for the Scottish Champions. Now, the Belgians have exercised their option to buy the midfielder after just four appearances for KRC Genk.

The Belgians confirmed on their website:

“The Ivorian midfielder is taken outright from Celtic. Kouassi is now signed up until 2024.

“Due to a minor injury and the corona crisis, he has only played in four games so far, but Kouassi was in the starting XI for three games and completed the 90 minutes in the last two.

“He was able to convince everyone at the club of his qualities.”

Kouassi didn’t perform well enough when he finally got that first team chance from Brendan Rodgers.

After a few failed attempts to prove to fans that Kouassi that he had what it took to play for the Scottish champions, it just wasn’t meant to be and now Eboue can kick start his career again.
