After playing at Celtic Park earlier in the season for Stan Petrov’s side in a Match for Cancer, former Aston Villa Striker Gabby Agbonlahor as reiterated his desire to play at Celtic but if not them, their rivals.
The former 55kpw striker is still without a club after leaving Aston in the summer and has revealed he has turned down a number of deals in Scotland and England since becoming a free agent.
The striker can hardly be called prolific during his career is now 31 and wants to make sure he goes to the right club.
He may be setting his heights just a little bit too high.
“As for the SPL, unless it’s one of the big couple of clubs, to be honest, that doesn’t excite me.
“I don’t need to chase a deal and will only sign for a club that genuinely excites me.
“I have no interest playing below Championship level so abroad realistically is the likely destination if I decide to make that decision.
“I don’t want to retire yet. I admit I have made some mistakes, I do have some regrets but that’s life, who hasn’t made mistakes?”
The Englishman pulled on the Hoops in September and certainly tried to work a move to Celtic Park in the aftermath.
This was just after Moussa Dembele had left unceremoniously from the club.
Things have settled down since and we don’t see many fans clamouring or making a fuss if Celtic ignore this.
