Bhoys to fight through Injury woes

The Scottish Premiership season has always been a long and bruising affair. With 44 games being packed into Celtics schedule since July, it is no wonder the hoops are beginning to lose some legs.

Currently the Injury list looks like this:

Lustig, Boyata, Benkovic, Tierney, Ralston, Ntcham, Forrest, Rogic, Kouassi, Edouard, Arzani, Griffiths.

Despite this, Brendan Rodgers managed to put out an XI that secured 3 points against a fierce Hibernian side, perhaps testament to the depth in our squad rued by many Celtic fans in recent months.

However, in terms of injury there are also positives to focus on. The past two weeks have seen the return of Nir Bitton, making 3 appearances so far off the bench in 2019 after spending 11 months sidelined by a knee injury. He has twice refreshed the midfield and once filled in at Centre half. Many supporters will agree that it is good to have a flexible player as we approach the back end of the season.

The Boys in Green now have 6 fixtures in just 17 days, including two huge games against Valencia, as well as away against Kilmarnock and Hearts.

Celtic’s opening to 2019 has been alarmingly strong, and should that form continue, whilst being bolstered by players returning from Injury, this could be a vital two weeks in the 2018/19 season.
