Moi Elyounoussi has earned some plaudits from an unlikely duo after the Norwegian bagged himself a Europa League goal double against Lille on Thursday night for the Scottish Champions.
The Southampton winger who rejoined Celtic for his second spell in a row with Neil Lennon’s side was on fire in France, his performance helped Celtic land an away draw in the Europa League.
Lille were not a team to be taken for granted as they are in direct competition with French giants PSG for the league title this season in Ligue one, so far that is.
Although Celtic were on a bad run of form, Thursday’s draw could be the turning point this season and hopefully it will spark the squad to up their game in the league.
“He was outstanding. (The first goal) is an absolutely wonderful finish, real quality. Lille were playing in the Champions League last season and they wouldn’t have conceded a goal better than that. Beautiful, the way he took it,” said former Arsenal defender Keown.
“(The second goal) is a really good run. He pulls away from the defender and he just gets enough on it to pull it wide of the keeper. A really clever goal, that was,” Hoddle explained.
The Hoops have indeed been drawn into a tough group this year but points are still there to be won if Neil Lennon manages to pull out the right tactics on the day.
