Abada Seemingly Not Happy: ” I’m coming on as a substitute, there are things behind that”
Liel Abada rumours have been causing quite a stir in the media over the last few weeks as many Celtic fans are worried that the winger could be leaving the Scottish Champions in the upcoming Summer transfer window, and his own comments aren’t helping the situation.
The 21-year-old is contracted to Celtic until 2026 which means Celtic and Postecoglou can instantly dismiss any interest from other clubs with regards to a potential transfer.
It also means that Celtic can name their price even if Abada’s agent pushes for a move away from Glasgow, the young Israeli player has reportedly been making comments about his lack of playing time.
This Celtic team is full of first team players all working hard to compete for a first team start, it’s the first time in a while that a Celtic manager has a full first eleven plus a full bench that all could easily start and win games.
That also means that maybe players could get upset with the lack of game time but that’s the nature of competitive football, Abada deserved his start against Hearts midweek due to the fact he came on against St Mirren and produced a goal and an assist.
It’s upto the player himself to maintain that level of performance and keep his place in the team.
It doesn’t help that the Israeli boss has been talking in the media and stating that Abada rejected a new deal at Celtic due to the fact he’s not always starting games and this was why he has been benched which for me is nonsense.
Abada has clearly contributed far more than other people think as the winger has made 93 appearances and has scored an impressive 27 goals, his assists come to the 18 mark also, these stats are phenomenal considering he’s only been here a year and a half.
Speaking to Israeli media Abada gave this strange comment:
“I’M COMING ON AS A SUBSTITUTE, THERE ARE THINGS BEHIND IT THAT PEOPLE DON’T KNOW. I DON’T WANT TO GO INTO TOO MUCH DETAIL,” SAID ABADA SPEAKING TO [SPORT 5].
