Celtic have reportedly made an offer for Shon Weissman who currently ply’s his trade in the Austrian Bundesliga for Wolfsberger AC as the Scottish Champions look for a solid addition to their striking force.

This story has been doing the rounds for the past few weeks but now its beginning to take form as the President of Wolfsberger AC had confirmed that Celtic have officially made an offer for their star player Shon Weissman.

With Leigh Griffiths currently not included in Lennon’s plans for the club’s trip to France, the Hoops gaffer would need another first team striker as we will be competing in four competitions this coming season.

We do have Klimala and Bayo as backup strikers but its uncertain if either will be used this season at all so its pivotal that another first team striker is purchased.

Wolfsberger signed Weissman on a two year contract last summer but after a prolific season at home and in the Europa League they will have to sell him this summer or miss out on a windfall.

Wolfsberger President said:

As you already know, he wants to go to Germany or England. Here, however, we still have no inquiries. Offers came from Russia or Scotland, among others, from Glasgow Celtic.

Because of the pandemic everything is different this year. The seasons in Germany have now ended. The clubs know where they will play in the coming season. I think the next few days will be interesting for Shon.

The 24 year old will suit Celtic’s style of football superbly and his stats speak for itself as Weissman has 30 goals from 31 league appearances and two Europa League goals from six matches
