Kris Boyd had his say in his weekly column on who will win the league this season and he is right about one key factor.
Boyd states that there aren’t much between Celtic and Rangers so far this season and this would look to be true by the league table only, but if you were to read between the lines he also states Celtic are far more stronger in other areas and have more quality in the depth of the squad, to me this means he knows Celtic are going to win.
The main thing was Edouard, Boyd said that it could all be down to the big Frenchman and if Celtic can keep him in January or worse he picks up an Injury.
Celtic only have one fully fit striker, with Bayo still picking up knocks here and there and not being able to stay fit, not to mention Griffiths still not ready to challenge Edouard again, Celtic must look to the January window and bring in another striker, its our weakest position in terms of depth.
On the other hand we have a sneaky feeling Griffiths will make a return to the squad its just the matter of when, he already proved he has still got the ability to score goals from his brief appearance in the summer.
Boyd just can’t admit Celtic are far stronger than Rangers and must try and stir it abit, the derby match at the end of December will be a key factor going into the winter break and Celtic must win at all costs.
“I didn’t think they would drop many points against the other teams but recently they have to Livingston and Hibs while Rangers drew at Hearts as well.
“But I still think the four Old Firm games will decide where the title goes.
“It makes it interesting between now and the end of the season. There’s not much between the two teams this season. Celtic maybe have a bit more strength in depth in the midfield areas but for me if Odsonne Edouard is to pick up an injury then Celtic are in big bother.”
