The latest report in the media is that Celtic’s key defensive target Shane Duffy and told Brighton that a move to the Scottish Champions is the only move for him as Neil Lennon desperately needs to strengthen that area.
The Brighton and Republic Of Ireland player has rejected another approach from West Brom and West Ham as Duffy only wants to move to Celtic and has also told Brighton about his choice.
The English club have reportedly told Shane Duffy that they will help him get a deal completed and now it seems that Lennon could be ready to secure his next vital signing in this transfer window as the Hoops have already completed moves for Ajeti, Barkas and also today Turnbull is officially a Celtic player.
However, Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers last night and this could have a slight effect on a potential deal unless the Celtic board allow talks to continue between both parties.
The Hoops might have lost the chance at a big Euro pay day but the club can still make it to the Europa League and that also brings in a vast revenue stream. (source)
Hopefully there can still be a deal offered to Duffy as the 28 year old would bring that raw physical presence that Lennon’s squad drastically require.
