Celtic And Hart Perfect Fit Believes Pundit
Matt Murray has advised Joe Hart to transfer to Celtic as the move to a massive club like the Scottish Champions is a no-brainer.
The former Manchester City number one will officially become a free agent this week as his contract at Burnley will expire.
Hart will be able to choose any club to join for free and Celtic seem to be eager to gain his services as replacement for Forster.
Lennon has stated that Celtic are trying to keep Forster here on a permanent deal or on loan, but with many clubs taking an interest in the English keeper and the high valuation that Southampton have placed on him, it could prove too difficult for Celtic to match.
Celtic would need a back-up option and Joe Hart would be a perfect fit as the former England international has serious talent, that Lennon and Celtic seem to have the knack at unearthing just like they have done with Forster, Bain and Gordon who pretty much didn’t play much football for years before Celtic took a gamble on him.
Murray said:
It doesn’t surprise me that a club of Celtic’s size are in for Joe, with the CV he’s got. Joe wants to go somewhere and be part of a project and Celtic is a huge, huge club, one of the biggest in the world. Some might say things about the level of the SPFL but he could still win things – ‘ten in a row’ and those Champions League nights. I don’t think [Celtic] will be able to keep [Fraser] Forster so I think Hart would be a great fit all around. I think there’s been a bit of disrespect for Joe, with the things he’s won, he’s a top-class ‘keeper and a top-class person.
