Celtic are at a point where they cannot afford to rule-out any player not being given a shot in the first team, especially since we have injuries and players not performing.

There are a host of names that Celtic fans are crying out to see get their start in Neil Lennon’s squad.

There are players such as Turnbull and Soro who deserve a chance to prove they are Celtic material.

However, there is one particular player that should have been given more game time than he’s had and that’s Celtic’s wonder-kid Karamoko Dembele.

The 17-year-old failed to earn a place as Celtic XI played Hamilton Accies in a friendly at Douglas Park yesterday.

Although Dembele has appeared as a substitute at the beginning of the season, the youngster hasn’t been seen since and it’s worrying.

Celtic have worked very hard over the last few season’s of Dembele’s development to persuade the 17-year-old to stay with the Scottish Champions despite huge interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs.

Now, the club is risking losing such a talented player before he’s had the chance to prove it on the pitch, more games are needed.

Dembele’s contract will soon expire and there doesn’t seem to be any notion of Dembele signing a new deal or even gaining a regular spot on Celtic’s bench.
