Neil Lennon is set to given the green light for Celtic to send Eboue Kouassi out on loan next season to smooth out the rough edges to his game.
The midfielder, 21, has made only 22 appearances for the Hoops since signing for £3million from Russian club Krasnodar in January 2017.
He was once again on the fringes of the senior since during the latest treble campaign, making the last of his five appearances last October before suffering a cruciate ligament injury.
He is expected to return to fitness for pre-season and a Celtic source has told several media’s that manager Lennon wants him to continue his development by going out on loan.
The Irishman does not foresee the Ivorian being a key member of the first-team squad next season, regardless of whether the club cash in on Olivier Ntcham this summer.
Former manager Rodgers spoke highly of the potential of Kouassi on a number of occasions and tipped him to become Scott Brown’s successor the midfield anchorman at Celtic.
He told the Record in January of last year: “Eboue’s brilliant in training, he does everything, and longer term he will certainly fulfill that role when Scott moves on.”
