Celtic are trying to reach out to other SPL clubs as the Scottish Champions want to plan another friendly match due to Dundalk and Derry City both not being allowed to travel due to the pandemic rules.
Lennon had originally planned to face either of the two Irish clubs on Saturday but the nation’s own pandemic rules stopped any hope of that game going ahead.
However, Celtic do still have a match with Motherwell arranged for Sunday as the Scottish Champions need preparation for the coming start of the season.
After the opener against Hamilton Celtic have a free midweek before taking on Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Aberdeen over the space of seven days followed quickly by the First Champions League qualifier.
The Hoops gaffer clearly wants to be well prepared for the start of the new season and it makes sense why he would chose to test his squad’s fitness levels against their opponents for the year.
It also will be vital for Celtic reaching the Champions League this year as they need to get in as much games as possible to get that fitness up, on the other hand they will be playing 3 domestic games followed by a Euro qualifier within 7 days, we must be in top physical form.
