Celtic seem to be trying to sign transfer targets of previous years as both Steven Fletcher and James McCarthy are becoming serious options once again for the Scottish Champions.

Lennon seems eager to sign a few more players to bulk up the Celtic squad for their most important season yet as the reigning Champions hope to clinch 10 in a row.

The Hoops have consistently been linked with moves for both players in the past but now it does seem as both could finally make the move to Paradise after reports have suggested Lennon is interested in them.

The former Hamilton and Wigan midfielder grew up a Celtic supporter and has been linked a number of times in his career. Neil Lennon is well stocked in the midfield area but the report claims that Celtic are confident of getting a deal done – despite the high wages that someone like McCarthy is likely to demand.

Celtic already have a vast amount of players in the midfield area and McCarthy could only come if Lennon plans to offload a player or two, regarding Fletcher, the rumours that are floating about are that the former SPL player would be willing to sign on a pay per game kind of deal.
