Celtic fans take to Twitter to dissect why the Scottish Champions fail to reach the higher heights in European Football.

The Hoops should have won the first leg of the Copenhagen tie.

Lennon’s men played far better in Denmark and should have taken at least a 3-1 win back to Glasgow.

But as always Celtic made it harder than it should have been.

The Bhoys simply couldn’t finish off the Danes on their home soil.

Over the last few years, Celtic have earned a crazy amount of money.

Their large pool of income has either come from European football or selling off prize players.

Many Celtic fans have had enough of Peter Lawwell’s influence and tight approach to our transfer policy.

Its fair to say that domestic dominance doesn’t need that much of a cash injection.

However, if Celtic want to thrive with Europe’s Elite, then money must be spent.

Celtic are falling behind to lesser European clubs and the simple reason is that they invest.

Other clubs like Copenhagen, Basel, Porto and many more, these clubs invest season after season.

They recoup what they spend as those teams generally do well in Europe every year.

Lawwell’s approach is different, Celtic will spend averagely until they know if any European money will be heading their way and that’s pretty much a gamble every single year.

We can only hope that the board will learn but don’t get your hopes up too much.
