Celtic could still be in with a shout at signing Forster but it would need to be a permanent move as “The Great Wall” wants a more settled decision on his football career.
The Southampton gaffer has stated that nothing has been made clear on Forster’s future and Ralph Hasenhuttl has hinted that Forster doesn’t want another loan deal but a permanent move instead.
So our guess is, Celtic would need to pay what the EPL club want for this move to be concluded as a loan deal seems out of the question.
Ralph Hasenhuttl also confirmed that Elyounoussi was happy to go back to Celtic on loan and that was an easy choice for the three parties involved.
The quoted figure that seems to be circulating around for Forster is £5 million and Lennon could easily persuade the board to release the funds for the big keeper as Forster was the pinnacle last season.
Scott Bain could do the job but Forster seems so calm in goals and that makes the fans and most importantly his defense at ease on match days.
Hasenhuttl said:
“We have not decided what we do next season with our plans in this direction,” Hasenhuttl said when asked about Forster.
“Of our loan players, some did a very good job there and it’s also clear that loan players don’t want to go again on loan.
“Normally they want to go permanently somewhere and we will find the right solution for every player in the summer.
“When the right moment is to discuss it, then we do it.”
