Celtic fans are in absolute hysterics on Twitter after Danny Murphy claimed that Steven Gerrard would ‘walk’ into Rangers team and it wouldn’t ‘surprise’ him if he scored against the Bhoys.
On Sunday, Gerrard played for his former club Liverpool in a charity game and netted the winner against AC Milan with a strike from outside of the area.
That promoted his former teammate Murphy to claim that the 38-year-old could do it for the current club he manages if his fitness are up to par.
Speaking to Jim White (25/03/2019), Murphy issued these controversial comments on Gerrard, as posted on talkSPORTS official Twitter account.
It is fair to say that Murphy’s comments didn’t go down well with the Parkhead faithful, who pointed towards Gerrard playing against Celtic in 2003 and not making an impact.
Others mentioned the likes of Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis, both of who have come from the Premier League, and the struggles they have faced since arriving.
