Celtic managed to ease past Motherwell today with a nice 3-0 win despite the gaffer not starting with any natural strikers for a second game in a row, Neil Lennon admits that the first half was poor as fans chime in with their comments.

Celtic fans took to Twitter to respond to Lennon’s post man comments from the Hoops official account and the majority basically stated it was because there was no strikers.

Lennon said:

“I wasn’t overly delighted with the first half, I thought we were a little bit passive and lukewarm. But in the second, I thought we were a lot better and as the game wore on, we got stronger and stronger. I’m delighted with the three points.”

“It was a good reaction and players are starting to look better – Jullien, Forrest, Ajer are all starting to get into a real match rhythm.”

“The two weeks ahead have come at a good time for them and for us, but there are a number of players away on international duty and we hope that they come back from that fit and well.”

“I like what I saw today for large spells of the game. I wanted a response today from the players and I got one.”

Some of the comments from fans:

“Cause you were playing without strikers ya bam”

“Not sure why he wasn’t delighted with the first half, it’s exactly how we played on Wednesday and he started us the exact same today. What that saying about repeating the same mistakes?”

“Imagine going from fresh air up front to using the strikers on the bench, taking off the ineffective players & using the speed and skill of frimpong to make things happen then wonder how it changed….it’s a funny old game”

“Incompetent. Cluj, Copenhagen and Ferencvaros. Should’ve been shown the door on Wednesday.”

“No striker this week again in first half. Dont be fooled by a win against a poor motherwell team, Lennon is clearly not fit to be making big decisions. He shud be gone out that door before any more damage is done”
