Scottish champions Celtic are interested in signing Burnley defender Ben Gibson on loan, according to a report on TeamTalk.

The defender left Middlesbrough to join Premier League side Burnley in 2018 for £15m but has since found it tough to break into the first team and play regular games.

This would be bad for any player in their prime like Gibson, as being purchased for a high fee of £15 million seems like a waste of talent.

Celtic are reported to be in talks at securing the big defender on loan as Lennon aims to bolster his options before deadline day.

Watford are also very keen on securing Gibson’s services so the Celtic gaffer would need to act fast if he wants his man signed up.

However, if Gibson wants regular football we can’t see him starting before Ajer and Jullien, Lennon must be aiming to possibly play a back three when needed.
