Rui Faria, the former assistant to Jose Mourinho, has been in contact with Celtic regarding the management post.

In case something were to go wrong with the proposed deal to bring Australian manager Ange Postecoglou to Celtic, the Daily Record reports that the club is prepared to be flexible.

The club is reported to have started preliminary conversations with Faria in case Postecoglou’s departure falls through. The team is favoured to choose Yokohama F Marinos manager Ange Postecoglou as the successor to Neil Lennon but following Eddie Howe’s decision to walk away from talks, the club is prepared itself for another debacle.

Following his time at Manchester United, Mourinho headed out on his own as he wanted to build a reputation for himself as a manager. Uniao Leiria (Porto), Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, and lastly Old Trafford: they collaborated while playing for Uniao Leiria, Porto, at both Chelsea and Inter Milan, before taking on United.

To be very honest, given it is June, the club should already know who is taking over and is making every effort to get the process moving quickly.

We’re about to reveal Postecoglou as the manager, but it appears like the manager’s number roulette. Multiple names are being connected to managerial responsibilities, but the club’s management have no apparent direction for the following season.
