Chelsea are said to have failed in a last-minute bid to sign Celtic bound Bosun Lawal.

Regardless of the fact that the agreement has yet to be formally confirmed, it looks that the 18-year-old has made up his decision and will be moving to Parkhead, with footage of him outside Celtic Park emerging.

Chelsea sought to persuade Lawal to sign for the club at the last minute, according to the Herald, but the youngster’s mind was already set on a transfer to Celtic.

According to the article, the Hoops beat off Norwich City, as well as teams from Italy and Croatia, to recruit the highly-rated Irish kid.

After leaving the newly-promoted side at the end of his current deal, Lawal will join the club for a low price of £120,000.

This appears to be a significant boost, since young skilled players have turned over the chance to continue playing down south in order to join Celtic in Scotland.

This season, Lawal will most likely play for Celtic B as they prepare for their maiden season in the Lowland League.
