Celtic are interested in signing Liam Moore before October’s transfer deadline as the Scottish Champions are still looking to strengthen their defensive options for the long season ahead.

Celtic have added the Reading captain to a shortlist of defensive options while the club continue a pursuit of Brighton centre-half Shane Duffy.

The 27 year old has a great track record with 230 appearances in the English Championship and minor EPL stints that could prove very valuable to Neil Lennon this season.

The Reading leader could have a commanding effect in the Celtic dressing room and might just be the player that can lead Ajer and Jullien to Hoops stardom by becoming an impenetrable back three.

Lennon has already stated that due to the loss of Jozo Simunovic, the Hoops need to find a replacement as they can risk not having players there just incase injuries start to kick-in.

The majority of the fans would like Shane Duffy to come to Celtic but if that becomes a dead deal then Moore would definitely be a key addition also.
