Celtic are set to start talks with Calum Kavanagh as a various other clubs are chasing the 16-year-old striker from Middlesbrough.
The young striker has still to make a senior game for Middlesbrough but sources claim Kavanagh has thrived at academy level in the English Championship.
Its been reported that Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea are also eager to sign up the 16-year-old after Kavanagh’s rise in reputation.
The latest clubs to contact the striker are Newcastle and Scottish Champions Celtic as Lennon wants to sign younger English based talent with a view to stepping them up to senior level in a few seasons. (source)
With football taking a break just now, Lennon and his scouts seem to be pursuing some future talent and making transfer plans.
This is smart as it means some players might be ready to sign when the summer window opens, we just hope that first-team options are also being tracked as Celtic need a few good players in the summer just incase certain clubs try to lure key players away from Glasgow.
