Craig Gordon’s inevitable transfer to childhood club Hearts seems to have taken a massive blow as Lennon has revealed he wants the keeper to remain at the Scottish Champions.

The Tynecastle club had made enquires back in the January transfer window and Lennon refused to let him go as he felt Celtic still needed Gordon’s services.

Rumours were circulating that Gordon had made his mind up and wanted to end his career with Hearts as his contract was up in the Summer.

But that might not happen now as the Edinburgh club now are set to face life a division down and play in the Championship next season due to the season ending early. (source)

Hearts are having to slash their wage budget and even if Gordon is willing to drop a significant amount of wages, would he want to miss out on a legendary ten in a row with Celtic and play Championship football.

Lennon has made his feelings clear that there is still a place for Craig Gordon and every squad should have three goalies, its also not guaranteed that Fraser Forster will even be a Celtic player next season.

To have one good goalie is a blessing, but to have three could be instrumental to achieving ten in a row and a Champions League run.
