Celtic are leading in their pursuit of signing Jamal Lowe from Wigan Athletic as the Scottish Champions look to increase their depth for the coming season.

The 26 year old winger has been a confirmed target of Neil Lennon since the start of this summer and now it looks as though Celtic are ready to make their move, with Wigan Athletic now in administration it means that virtually all their players are up for sale.

Lennon could bag himself a bargain for the winger who joined Wigan from Portsmouth last season for £ 2 million and had a great first year with the Championship club scoring 6 goals and gaining 5 assists.

With Celtic only having Elyounoussi and Forrest as their main wingers with Johnston currently out with an injury, Lennon does need another first team addition and Lowe could be that player who can come in an instantly cover both areas.

The only clubs that are interested in Lowe are Cardiff and Millwall, Celtic could easily tempt the 26 year old into making the switch to the Scottish Champions as the former non league player would see it as another massive step in his career.
