Celtic are interested in signing Bolton Wanderers forward Ronan Darcy in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Premier League giants Chelsea are also eyeing the 18-year-old forward and have made enquires about him.
However, the London club are unable to sign any players for the next two transfer windows due to a ban.
Celtic have also been monitoring the progress of the highly-rated and very talented forward and are ready to bring him to Celtic Park for a nominal compensation fee, according to the report.
Darcy made his debut for the Bolton first team only on the final day of the 2018-19 Championship season, and the 18-year-old is still developing and progressing as a footballer.
It is clear that the forward is one for the future, and if Celtic do sign him, then the Hoops should utilize the teenager in the youth team for the first year or so before pushing him towards the senior side.
This sort of business is exactly what Celtic should be doing more of, every club of course invests in their youth system but most clubs do take full advantage of the high level of talent that is out there now, Celtic should be heavily investing all around the world and bringing in a high volume of young players every 6 months and emulating classic clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Ajax plus many more and invest in finding the potential best player in the world and make a tonne of cash off them annually.
Some clubs use this tactic alone to make 70% of their income, Celtic do of course have a fantastic youth set-up but our set up is designed to aid our first team not as a potential cash injection yearly, just look at our first team at the moment, Celtic easily have half their first team squad that came from the youth academy imagine if we sold Tierney, McGregor and Forrest, it would be devastating sure we would earn at least £30 million but Celtic would then need to go out and spend around that for quality replacements as we don’t have players who are ready to step up yet, it needs to be a constant process of scouting, developing and selling.
