The reports are that Ange Postecoglou has made Patrick Berg of FK Bodø/Glimt his first signing target with Celtic having made a £1.8 million bid according various outlets.

The Norwegian international midfielder has one year remaining on his contract and at that price he would be a steal.

From what I have read about him, he helped Bodø/Glimt win the title last season and is also the vice captain, Berg also has 4 caps for his country with 3 coming most recently.

Patrick is a deep lying midfielder who likes to break up play and get on the ball and with Scott Brown leaving and Ntcham looking like he’s on his way out, Celtic certainly need reinforcements in the midfield engine room.

At 23 years of age he’s at a good age for the Celtic model to develop and sell on in the future if successful.

The Scandinavian market is one that Celtic have been successful in over the years with Lustig, Ajer, Mjallby and Johansen over the years.
