Celtic Manager Confirms Duffy For The First Team
Neil Lennon has confirmed that Shane Duffy will go straight into the Hoops starting eleven as they face Ross County today in the league, the manager can’t wait to see what the Irish defender will bring to the Scottish Champions.
The Hoops gaffer has stated that Duffy has played two games with Ireland and theres no reason he shouldn’t get his debut start in Scottish Football.
This will be good news for fans to hear as we have been longing for such a defender for quite a few years now and Duffy will bring a raw and physical aspect to the team aswell as a potential aerial goal threat from set pieces.
Neil Lennon said:
“Shane will go straight into the squad,” said the manager. “He played two games for Ireland and scored in one of them. They were his first couple of games since January so that will have done him the world of good.
“I think it’s a great bit of business by the club. When you look at the competition we had to get his signature, it’s a real coup for the club and great for the supporters.
“We’ve got a player that understands the ethos of the club and it’s important to have those types of players in the dressing room. He has personality but also the quality and physicality as well. We are delighted to get his services and he’s delighted to be here and we are excited about the prospects this season.”
Fantastic news for fans
With this addition to the squad, we can only hope that Lennon is planning to unleash his epic 3-5-2 formation that proved to be devastating to sides last season.
