Neil Lennon has confirmed that Celtic are in advanced talks over a possible transfer of David Turnbull from Motherwell as the midfielder has been a target of the Irishman’s for sometime now.

There was a deal agreed last June and the player was even ready to be paraded around Celtic Park but a freak knee injury was discovered that meant the Scottish Champions couldn’t take the risk at that time.

But now Turnbull has returned to Motherwell’s first team and his form has been fantastic so far going into this new season of football as Lennon had sent his first team coach Gavin Strachan to watch Turnbull on numerous occasions.

Despite Motherwell going through some rough patches, all reports on Turnbull have been positive and Celtic seem ready to make their final move.

Lennon seems to be holding his card’s close to his chest on this transfer and we can’t blame him after last summer’s gaff.

If the rumours are true about Rogic and Ntcham both wanting a move away from the Hoops then Lennon needs to get some players in beforehand.
