Celtic must issue a hands off warning to any club showing interest in our top players.
We all knew that time would come around again were clubs from England and Europe will have major interest in Celtic’s elite players and try to persuade them to leave the famous Glasgow Celtic for pretty much more money.
But money isn’t always the right choice just as we have seen in the past, as a former Celtic players get lured away with bigger pay cheques and the promise of a better life only to be discarded at the sight of some bad form.
We have all seen the rumours of the apparent interest from Brendan Rodgers on a number of Celtic’s players now including Rogic and Tierney, but Celtic must fight against it and aim higher than just being a selling club.
Obviously Celtic cannot match financially against the bigger leagues but we can attempt to emulate the likes of Ajax and invest with what we have in the youth academy and add quality as well, invest in our whole infrastructure as a club and just maybe one day we will regularly contend again in Europe.
Where this all starts is how the Celtic board go about hiring a manager, as much as we love Lennon he’s not the one to head this change.
