Leigh Griffiths made his Celtic Park return as Christopher Jullien and Luca Connell also took a bow in a goal-free friendly against Rennes.

Celtic took on French outfit Rennes at Celtic Park today with around 15,000 fans attending the game, the first half was somewhat stale with both sides lacking that cutting edge in this decent match-up.

we did get to see new bhoys Luca Connell and Christopher Jullien finally making their debut at Celtic Park and both players did relatively well, Connell could however use a few more games under his belt before we can fully judge his ability as its a step up from playing for Bolton but Jullien absolutely cruised the game with ease and we reckon a few more matches and he will easily be a force to be reckon with this season.

Craig Gordon also made his first start for seven months and he twice repelled the French side with two reaction stops in the first 45 minutes of few chances either way.

Scott Sinclair nodded a terrific cross from the left by Jonny Hayes inches wide and the Englishman was then left mortified when he missed a sitter moments later after failing to connect from a few yards out after the chance was laid on a plate by the impressive Henderson who was outstanding and could be a breath of fresh air this season for Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

To wrap things up, it was a perfect match for the Celtic squad to test themselves against a very good opponent as we still have a long Champions League qualifying task to grind through.
