Celtic Outcast Advised To Leave By Alex Bruce
Alex Bruce believes that Celtic defender Boli Bolingoli should consider leaving Parkhead after falling down the pecking order under Neil Lennon.
The former Kilmarnock player, admits that the 24-year-old is an eye-catching player but that he has not delivered in his first season in Glasgow.
With Greg Taylor looking likely to remain Lennon’s number one choice as Celtic wing-back, it leaves Boli with a tough choice.
Bolingoli has all the traits and talent, but for a defender he finds it tough with the physical aspect of the Scottish game.
If Celtic could get a few offers in for him in the summer then Lennon should bite their hands off and re-invest the money.
Another avenue which might suit Boli is to re-train him as a winger as he does have that thunderous pace and agility.
Bruce said: “He’s very, very quick and he’s very strong – I know that from playing against him.
“He does catch the eye, he’s big and athletic but obviously he’s got competition for places and everyone will want to play.
“If he’s fell down the pecking order like he has and you’ve got people like Greg Taylor who’s come in and done very well – new signing obviously, Scottish lad as well – if you’re not playing and you see you’re road’s blocked, obviously they’re going to have to move on.”
