Boli Bolingoli was not given any minutes in Wales, but he might make his contentious return to Celtic action next night.

Boli was a member of the team that travelled to Newport for their preseason training camp. Despite his involvement with the first squad, he was never granted any playing time.

Ange Postecoglou put an end to any speculation when he said Boli would miss Saturday’s game against Charlton owing to a minor ailment [Daily Record]. He added that he wanted to be out for only two to three days due to the injury. He did not offer a reason for missing the opening match against Sheffield Wednesday.

Boli, on the other hand, hasn’t been locked out. The manager’s decision to allow him to go with the team to their pre-season camp was a gesture of good faith.

And it now appears that Boli will make his first Celtic appearance since breaking public health restrictions in 2020.

We have seen alot of articles earlier this month how cautious Postecoglou must be when reintegrating Boli into the fold. Whether he gets another chance or not, his Covid breach last year has sparked widespread outrage among fans.

He’d have a lot of convincing to do. Even yet, considering the immoral nature of his decision last year, some admirers may never come back to his side.
