It seems as though Ange Postecoglou has already presented his target list to the Celtic board and his former Yokohama F. Marinos forward Ado Onaiwu remains top of the list to lead as his first-team striker.

As we all know, it’s very likely that Odsonne Edouard will be sold in the coming weeks and with Leigh Griffiths also being touted as heading for the exit door, Postecoglou can’t just place his faith in Albian Ajeti or Vak Bayo.

Celtic’s biggest downfall last season was not recruiting for the proper areas that badly needed strengthening, the squad only just got away with not signing an inform striker as Edouard ended the campaign as top scorer, although he could have done much better as we know from the previous season.

The 55 year old manager was named as the man to take charge of the rebuild at the Hoops and even though he’s currently in quarantine, his recruitment has begun.

As we know from a few sources, Ange is currently assessing potential targets and working alongside new CEO Dom McKay, even under these restrictions it looks like the Greek/Aussie is working hard behind closed doors to build his squad.

As Postecoglou clearly knows, Onaiwu’s future at the Japanese club looks to be ending soon as his contract is set to end next January.

This would mean that Celtic are ready to make the striker an offer and Marinos would be smart to cash in on his value now as he’s made it clear that no new deal will be signed.

Clearly big Ange knows how good the 65 goal striker could be at a club like Celtic and the player himself would see this move as a massive step up.
