Joey Dawson, a Scunthorpe teenager, is said to be a target for Celtic this summer.
According to an exclusive source from Iron Bru, the League Two team would have to fight tooth and nail to retain the 17-year-old at Glanford Park.
Dawson, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a center-forward, has been given a long-term professional contract by the Lincolnshire side, but it is expected that he will look for a new club at the end of the season.
At the age of 16 years and 75 days, he became Scunthorpe United’s youngest-ever player in 2019. He is the nephew of Tottenham legend Michael Dawson, who made 324 appearances for the club.
Celtic does seem to be stepping up their game when it comes to scouting emerging players around the United Kingdom.
The Hoops have already signed Liam Shaw from Sheffield Wednesday and are said to be interested in Kyle Joseph of Wigan and Kwadwo Baah of Rochdale.
One of two Celtic transfer plans is to target young British prospects, and with a summer reboot expected to take place, it seems as if the Hoops are looking toward next season with some of the players linked.
