Celtic Player's "Bitter" Excuse For Not Staying
Moritz Bauer has confirmed that his loan spell with Celtic will end as the right-back aims a Stoke City comeback next season.
The Celtic defender joined the Bhoys on loan from Stoke City last summer.
Bauer had some playing time in the first half of the season but a mixture poor performances and the rise of Jeremie Frimpong cost him his place in Lennon’s first team squad.
He said (source):
“I don’t want the season to end. It was an exciting experience for me at Celtic, even if it went bitterly for me.
“Losing my place wasn’t down to my performances.
“I’m 28, only on loan from Stoke and relatively expensive.
“I understand what happened because Celtic are building the experience of a younger player.
“When the new season starts at Stoke, I now have the chance to get people talking again about me with my performances.
“I certainly dream of playing for Austria again.”
Opinion Time
There is no doubt that Bauer has the potential to be a first team player but the defender hasn’t took his chances under Lennon, Frimpong took his one shot at stardom and succeeded.
Bauer had a few performances that just wasn’t the Celtic standard and ultimately he was dropped for a more hungrier player.
