Celtic are one of the clubs looking at Dinamo Zagreb defender Amir Rrahmani. According to Belgian media outlet DH, Amiens, Celtic and Standard Liege are locked in the battle for Rrahmani.
But Standard Liege have opened negotiations and lead the race for the defender. His next career move could be to France or Scotland but Belgium seems the most likely destination.
Rrahmani operates predominantly as a centre-back. This could solve Neil Lennon’s problem position. With Filip Benkovic returning to Leicester City after his loan and Dedryck Boyata joining Hertha Berlin, Celtic need another centre-half.
Alternatively, the 25-year-old could be brought in as a left-back cover. Emilio Izaguirre is leaving and Celtic need a back-up option for Kieran Tierney.
The versatile 6ft 4in defender could provide depth in both areas. And the is the captain of the Kosovo national side, proving he has the leadership qualities to slot into the Celtic team.
Rrahmani has impressed in Croatia and now seems to have earned his move away. Celtic might be the next destination for the Kosovan defender.
