Celtic will try and reach an agreement over the signing of Alfie Doughty from Charlton Athletic as Neil Lennon hopes to land the midfielder who can thrive in the wing-back role, the Hoops are set to prepare a third bid for 20 year old.

After Charlton have rejected previous bids, Celtic hope that the final bid which will include lucrative add-ons will be enough to land the Hoops target.

The League One club are desperate to keep a hold of their star player as Doughty has only one year left of his current deal, Lee Bowyer wants the versatile left sided player to stay with the Addicks but Celtic could prove too big of an opportunity to turn down.

The 20 year old made an impressive 21 appearances last season in the Championship and also managed to bag himself two goals.

With Alfie Doughty having been a long term target for Celtic and the fact that Charlton were relegated last season, we fully expect the Scottish Champions to eventually meet a value that the English club deems acceptable.
