Diego Laxalt looks set to become a Celtic player in a matter of hours as the transfer deadline looms, the AC Milan player has reportedly landed in London to complete a medical with the Scottish Champions.

The 27 year old can play various roles within a squad as Laxalt can star in all left sided positions that would greatly benefit Neil Lennon’s desire for a wing back.

The Italian giants who Celtic will play against in our Europa League group, will also consider Celtic’s request to add a future fee in the deal as this would allow Neil Lennon to purchase Laxalt for a flat fee when his loan deal should end.

Anthony Joseph from Sky Sports remains to be the person that is keeping fans updated on this transfer.

Although Diego Laxalt hasn’t hit the heights of his career at the moment, the versatile player would come to Celtic with bags of experience and a desire to prove his critics wrong, he would also have inside info on AC Milan that could be beneficial to Neil Lennon.

Laxalt has already been capped around 24 times for the Uruguay national team and has been loaned out to various clubs in Italy, this can also be seen as a player what will come to Glasgow with a decent pedigree on club and national experience.

Give Laxalt a chance

The one thing that some of our support does on a regular basis is write a player off before they have even kicked a ball just because of past career choices.

Celtic have signed many players in our history who haven’t been able to achieve their top career form until they have played with us, many names can be included and a most recent one would be Scott Sinclair who became an instant hit with Celtic fans.
