Celtic Ready To Increase Toney Offer To Land Their Bhoy
Celtic have made a £5m bid for Peterborough striker Ivan Toney as Lennon aims to bolster his squad for the coming season.
Peterborough chairman Darragh McAnthony revealed that a vast amount of clubs have sent over bids for his striker and also confirmed that a club from Scotland has submitted an offer for Toney.
Its obvious that Celtic were the club as Sevco don’t have that kind of money lying around unless its being paid up in 1p instalments.
A source from the English club confirmed that it was indeed the Hoops that placed a bid for Toney but it was also rejected as it fell short of their valuation of the striker as the highest offer to date was around £6.5 million. (source)
So this would mean that Celtic would need to either have to match that offer or increase theirs, if they do it would signal intent that Lennon aims to win this season with brute financial strength or worse, it could very well see Edouard being sold but we predict the Frenchman to stay for 10 in a row.
