The Scottish Champions have been dealt a major blow as James Forrest could miss upto 6 weeks out on the sidelines due to a fractured ankle.
The Celtic star was took off the field against Riga FC last month with a suspected minor injury but further scans have revealed that a more serious issue was uncovered.
The 29 year old could be set to miss a host of key Celtic matches including the first Glasgow Derby of the season and both Europa League games against AC Milan and Lille.
Neil Lennon still has Jeremie Frimpong at his disposal who can easily cover for the injured star.
The Hoops star will be a huge loss to the team as Forrest has become such a key member of the Celtic squad since his inclusion to the first team back in 2009 as the 29 year old played a vital role in last season’s 9 in a row win.
The serial winner managed to accumulate around 60 appearances for the Champions in all competitions.
