Celtic Set To Land Top Target On 4 Year Contract
Celtic are set to complete a move for Vasilis Barkas either today or tomorrow as the AEK Athens goalie will arrive in Glasgow to complete a medical with the Hoops and confirm a four year deal.
It has been widely reported that Barkas has already agreed personal terms with Celtic and now Lennon has agreed a fee for the keeper, the fee is believed to be a €5m initial payment with add-ons which could see it stretch to €6m, also the Greek club has also managed to insert a 10% sell-on fee also.
It seems that Fraser Forster actually turned down the move back to the Scottish Champions and Lennon had to find a suitable alternative of which Barkas became the Hoops gaffer’s number one choice.
Its quite clear that Celtic are spending serious money on Barkas and the 26 year old is clearly coming to Scotland to nail down a first team position of which Celtic desperately need.
Celtic fans might not have to wait long to see Barkas in action as he could very well be playing in Sunday’s game.
