According to The Daily Star, Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is set to join Celtic before the transfer market closes.
During the current transfer window, the Hoops have been linked with a move for the tall centre-back.
Larry Henry Jr, an American writer, has provided three updates on the 23-year-future, old’s all of which have mentioned Celtic with curiosity.
His first statement mentioned Celtic’s interest, his second stated that the contest was between Celtic, Bournemouth, and Newcastle, and his third stated that the Cherries were out of the race.
On Thursday lunchtime, Aaron Rodgers of the Daily Star published a report on a number of Newcastle prospects.
Carter-Vickers is desired by the Magpies, according to Rodgers’ report. He did, however, add that the USA international is ‘likely to join Celtic’, which is an intriguing four-word update.
Tottenham are convinced that they will earn £5 million for Carter-Vickers this summer, despite the fact that he has less than a year left on his contract, and new sources suggest that the Hoops may be the team to match that number.
Carter-Vickers, who earns £20,000 a week at Tottenham, has never played in the Premier League, so if Celtic agree to pay Tottenham’s asking price, it may be a dangerous decision.
Following Kris Ajer’s departure to Brentford, Ange Postecoglou only has Carl Starfelt, Stephen Welsh, and Osaze Urhoghide as fit senior centre-back possibilities, thus it appears that another defender is required.
According to The Daily Star, Carter-Vickers, who can also play as a right-back, may be that man, so it’ll be a deal to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
