Mohamed Elyounoussi looks unlikely to make a permanent return to Celtic in the summer window as Lennon couldn’t justify paying that quoted £10 million for the winger.
The Norwegian had a fantastic start to his Celtic loan career and fans could see why Southampton initially paid £16 million for him just a few years ago.
But with a few annoying injuries that stopped Elyounoussi from returning to his normal self, Lennon just won’t attempt to enter negotiations with the English club at that level.
There are sources that reveal that Celtic might be interested at starting talks with a reasonable fee in mind, its unclear if Southampton will budge on their requested fee.
When the winger is on form he’s a danger to most opponents, but with his drop in form and those injuries still creeping about, Celtic need to be careful at paying such a high price for a player that might return to top form.
For £10 million, Lennon could look in other areas for players that so called elite teams fail to scout, after all our gaffer has a track record of producing a few Champions League stars.
