Kris Ajer has confessed that his heart lies at Celtic as the Norwegian defender throws out any sort of move that previously linked him with a move to AC Milan.
There was speculation that Ajer was trying to force a move to the Italian Giants, with Celtic rejecting a rumoured two bids from Milan, the Hoops defender has confirmed that he wants to remain at the Scottish Champions.
With Neil Lennon’s men preparing to face Sevco on Saturday without a few key players, Ajer must now step up and prove his worth to the club and put in a good shift against the Klan.
The defender stated that he’s happy at Celtic:
There has been a lot of interest, but I am very happy to be in Celtic.
“They have given me over 150 games and backed me.
“It is a club that means a lot to a lot of people, and I am happy to be there.
“My contract lasts another year and a half, and I look forward to playing there this season.”
With only a year and a half left to run on his current Celtic deal, the board must react and offer Ajer a good deal to stay in Glasgow or risk potentially losing him on the cheap.
With around 49 appearances last season it goes to show that Kris Ajer has become instrumental to Celtic’s success over the last few years and retaining him in the transfer window was pivotal.
