Celtic have made an approach to sign Newcastle winger Christian Atsu on loan until the end of the season.
The 28-year-old Ghana international has been the target for many clubs in England but Celtic seem to be having discussions with Newcastle chiefs about a possible loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.
This would be a better option for Celtic and Neil Lennon than going for former Hoops player Wanyama as we are lacking in the winger department, especially players who are experienced.
The only real wingers Celtic have are Mohamed Elyounoussi and James Forrest who are either lacking in match fitness or just off form, Mikey Johnston looks set to be injured for a while and Lennon doesn’t seem to be interested in using Arzani or Shved.
The January window is always a strange one for any football club and Celtic have already signed two players, if any more deals are to be made it will happen a few hours from the deadline.
