Declan Gallagher produced a fine display today as Motherwell were unlucky not to defeat Rangers.
The former Celtic youth player has been linked with a return to Celtic-Park for a few months now and although he’s not everyone’s ideal choice, the defender proved today that he could do a job in this current Hoops squad.
Now, of course, it has all been pure speculation and nobody from both clubs has confirmed the link.
However, his performance today should go in his favour as Gallagher would welcome a move back to the nine in a row winners.
Rangers played as they have been for most of the season and pinned Motherwell in their own box for most of the game, but this allowed Declan Gallagher to do what he does best and also show his defensive skills, he cleared the ball a staggering 16 times.
As Gallagher wasn’t as fault for Rangers scoring it just proves how much of a pest he really is and Celtic could do worse than signing him in this window.
After all the club splashed big money to bring Shane Duffy to the club and the big Irishman hasn’t exactly been brilliant considering the league he came from.
To round this up, the big Scotland star seems reliable and solid at the back and as Celtic have no more European football this season, it’s all bout stability and not falling further behind Rangers.
