Celtic are reportedly keen on signing Trabzonspor striker Caleb Ekuban as the Scottish Champions have made an initial offer of £4.5 million as they look for another target as Toney seems to have his heart set on the EPL.

The 26 year old only managed to score 11 goals last season in all competitions since completing a permanent move from Leeds United after a successful season before.

Ekuban has also earned four caps for the Ghanaian national team, also getting on the score sheet twice.

The Turkish media has suggested that Celtic’s bid was rejected as Trabzonspor are holding out for a few million more.

We can’t really understand why Celtic would be going for this kind of player as Ekuban isn’t really known for being a prolific scorer.

However, what could be beneficial to Lennon is the striker’s physical presence in the air which Celtic have been lacking for a while, Lennon might feel he can utilise Ekuban’s strengths.

At the price of £6.3 million, Celtic should cut ties and look elsewhere as the Striker hasn’t done enough to be sold for that price.
