Celtic are lining up a move for Leeds United left-back Barry Douglas as Neil Lennon hopes to find a replacement for rule breaker Boli Bolingoli and also help for Greg Taylor.

This season could be one of the most important achievements that any of these current Celtic players will ever accomplish, the same will go for Lennon and his management team.

Celtic must weed out the players that won’t contribute anything this season and bring in the players that would add value to the team.

Lennon has already stated that it would be hard for Bolingoli to make a comeback into the squad and the defender has already received high interest from France.

Barry Douglas has emerged as Lennon’s top target for the left-back position and the Leeds United player has the nod from the Hoops fans to join.

The 30-year-old hasn’t played in Scotland since his spell with Dundee United ended in 2013 and he’s since had successful spells with Lech Poznan in Poland, Konyaspor in Turkey and both Wolves and Leeds in England.

The defender’s contract is set to be up next summer and it looks like Celtic could land him in a bargain deal which would please fans as Douglas could definitely add some experience to the squad.

Leeds will be playing EPL football very soon and Lennon would need to offer the 30 year some assurances to what the club have to offer him, European football and the chance to be apart of Celtic history should be enough to lure him back to Glasgow.
